The Penthouse Hotel and Residence

This is one of my favorite hotels to stay in Angeles City. The hotel staff are professional, helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious, clean, and has good amenities. It is a bit dated. The location is close to bars restaurants and nite life. Only issue i had is the reception told me that my reservation during separate booking was cancelled on the day of checkout and I had to pay for the stay; but booking was not canceled. Other than that issue, all else was great. I would stay here again.

Falls Just Short of 4-stars. 3.7-stars. Pros: Amenities, Comfort, Location Cons: Maintenance, Price, WiFi, Lack of Shelf Space/Seating/Desk Solo leisure traveler, that stayed for one week. The Penthouse has many nice amenities to include a rooftop pool, bar, on-site sports gambling, and rooms with sunken tubs and rainwater shower with in-shower steam. The bedding is super comfortable. A memory-top mattress, covered by soft high thread count sheets, soft duvet comforter, and huge down pillows will ensure your night sleep is sound and comfortable. I am a light sleeper and slept very well. The location is stone’s throw away from Walking Street without hearing anything from the traffic/music…Unless the neighbors start singing karaoke. Although relatively new, its showing signs of problematic construction, i.e., water seeping through walls during rains, walls crumbling, paint in the rooms flaking and chipping, windows that do not close all the way, mold starting to form on walls and ceilings, inoperative elevator, dying plants and broken decking around the pool, mold in the pool, room carpets not properly vacuumed or cleaned, etc. They badly need a maintenance crew with a supervisor that has an attention to detail. The price I originally paid seemed a fair deal, but when I checked-in the price exploded exponentially. I know it’s a matter of supply and demand, but the price was outrageously overpriced. Although they have WiFi, in-room and the surrounding hotel WiFi was continually going out or inoperable. The modems are old, and look like first or second generation, and it’s literally a patchwork of connectivity. Best WiFi on property is the rooftop bar/pool area. Again, with a dedicated maintenance team or even hiring IT tech team, they could easily fix this issue. I loved the huge steam shower, but there was no place to sit and enjoy it. I inquired about that oddity and was told I could request one. Why not just provide one as part of the room? Finally, the rooms are large, but there is nowhere to set your luggage, accept on the floor. An oddly shaped small round table and uncomfortable armless chair are the only furnishings, besides the bed. So if you order room service, no place to eat except in bed. And if you want to do any work at a table, it does not exist.
